Skin Cancer Patients Holding HandsThere are more skin cancers in the US than there are all other cancers combined and it is estimated that one in five Americans will develop skin cancer during their lifetime.

Skin cancer is the out-of-control growth of abnormal cells usually in the outermost Layer of your skin. The main types of skin cancer are basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), melanoma and Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC).

The two main causes of skin cancer are harmful ultraviolet (UV) light from the Sun and the use of tanning beds.

If skin cancer is caught early, your dermatologist can treat it with little or no scarring and high odds of complete cure.

Often, your doctor may even be able to detect abnormal growths before it has become a full-blown skin cancer or grows below the surface of the skin.

If you think you have a skin cancer or have had a skin cancer in the past and are looking for a dermatology practice that specializes in skin cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment, please call the Skin Cancer Treatment Center at 954-436-5625 and schedule an appointment with one of our expert doctors.

Skin Cancer Hand with FruitsThe skin is the largest organ of the human body. The average adult has 1.75 m² (18.5 ft² ) of skin that contains a variety of complex structures, including hair follicles, nails, glands and specialized sensory structures. All of these skin components function to protect and regulate your body and provide a connection to the outside world.

A dermatologist is the most effective professional in diagnosing and treating skin disease. Their enhanced training reflects experience in recognizing patterns, configurations, and subtle variations in appearance of the skin. At the Skin Cancer Treatment Center, we have experts in skin disease and growths as well as specialized tools to provide the most advanced care to our patients.

If you think you may have a skin disease and are looking for a dermatology practice that specializes in all skin conditions, please call the Skin Cancer Treatment Center at 954-436-5625 and schedule an appointment with one of our expert doctors.

Sun Damage in Face - Before and afterThe sun sustains life and feels good, but it can be your skin’s worst enemy. While every sunburn can increase your risk of skin cancer, it’s not just those big days at the beach or ballgame that cause trouble. Each time you run out to get the mail, walk the dog or commute to work without sun protection also adds to the damage that can lead to skin cancer (as well as leathery skin, dark spots and wrinkles).

At the Skin Cancer Treatment Center, we are experts in guiding you to safe and effective means to protect yourself from the sun.

Skin Cancer ExamThe skin needs to be examined thoroughly in good light. The whole of the skin should be routinely examined for atypical growths. Having a Dermatologist look at your skin often reveals lesions that you may be unaware of or may think unimportant. Thorough skin examination often allows the early detection of unexpected but treatable skin cancers.

There are thousands of different skin complaints and diseases. Therefore, if you think you may have a skin problem or disease, please call the Skin Cancer Treatment Center at 954-436-5625 and schedule an appointment with one of our expert doctors.
