MOH’S MICROGRAPHIC SURGERY
MOH’S microscopically controlled excision of skin cancer is performed at the Skin Cancer Treatment Center by our two fellowship trained Moh’s surgeons. The Moh’s technique is the best way to remove skin cancer. With this technique, only the skin cancer is removed without removing normal tissue, minimizing disfugurement. Plastic Surgical Repairs are performed in our state of the art Dermatologic Surgical Suites.

ABOUT OUR DERMATOLOGISTS
KATHRYN ZEOLI, M.D., F.A.A.D.
Kathryn Zeoli, M.D. has been practicing medicine and dermatologic surgery in South Florida for 32 years. She received her Nursing and then Medical degrees from the University of Miami School of Medicine and trained in Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Zeoli is board certified in Family Medicine and Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery (but limits her practice to Dermatology and Skin Cancer Surgery) and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Society of Cosmetic Surgery. She has been married to Fred Ramirez, J.D., LLM for 39 years. They have three grown children.
Dr. Zeoli is Volunteer Clinical Faculty at the University of Miami School of Medicine and is a Physician and Dermatologist for three summer camp programs for children with special medical needs.
SUSANA LEAL-KHOURI, M.D.
Susana Leal-Khouri, M.D. trained in Pathology at Brown University, and Dermatology and Mohs Surgery (a specialized method of removing recurrent or serious skin cancers near vital facial structures) and Dermatopathology at Washington University.
Dr. Leal-Khouri presently teaches as a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of Miami Medical School and is the author of many articles and a surgical text book. Married to Roger Khouri, M.D, a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. They have 5 children.
BRIAN BUCALO, M.D.
Brian Bucalo, M.D. graduated as an Electrical Engineer from M.I.T. and worked as an engineer for 6 years before attending the Univ. of Miami School of Medicine and Dermatology Residency. His Moh’s and Cosmetic Dermatology Fellowship was done at UCLA. He was the Moh’s surgeon and a clinical faculty member at the Cleveland Clinic for more than 8 years before joining the Skin Cancer Treatment Center in 2001.

CHRISTINE HAUGEN, M.D.
Christine Haugen, M.D. completed three years of General Surgery residency at Brown University, and then went on the University of Miami for her Plastic Surgery residency and a Research and Microvascular fellowship. She is the first woman to complete the University of Miami Plastic Surgery program. Dr. Haugen has been certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 2001. She has a special interest in skin cancer and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures. Dr. Haugen performs our Moh’s surgery reconstruction and other cosmetic procedures requested by our patients at the Skin Cancer Treatment Center.
Dr. Haugen lives in Fort Lauderdale with her husband, Fred Haddad, J.D., and their young son.
Susana Leal-Khouri, M.D., who is an expert in cosmetic procedures, has many years of experience in cosmetic services and has written text books and journal articles on surgical techniques, lasers, and other cosmetic procedures.
BOTOX
An effective treatment of crow’s feet, frown lines, and forehead wrinkle lines. May be used to slightly raise eyebrows. Results become evident in a few days and last several months. An extremely safe and very popular procedure.
FILLERS (RESTYLANE, JUVIDERM, PERLANE, ETC)
The use of these filler substances adds fullness to an area. It is particularly popular for enhancement of lips, minimizing the folds between the nose and cheeks, and for filling in the wrinkle lines of the upper lip.
ACID PEELS AND WASHES
Solutions are used to cause from very mild to very significant peeling of the skin to treat pre-cancers, fine wrinkles, age spots, and other forms of irregular pigmentation.
SCLEROTHERAPY
One of the best first time treatment for “Spider Veins” of the legs. A saline solution is injected into these vessels, causing irritation and subsequently closing the blood vessels. The treatment is minimally painful and well tolerated.
